Spicy tomato and celery juice
Try this Bloody Mary without the vodka - it will refresh, not inebriate.
Ingredients
6 very ripe tomatoes, about 600g
2 large sticks celery, plus extra leafy sticks to serve (optional)
Worcestershire sauce
Tabasco sauce
Celery salt
Method
Roughly chop and juice the tomatoes and celery. Stir in the sauces to taste and transfer to a jug. Pour into glasses filled with ice and top with a pinch of celery salt. If you like, put in a celery stick for stirring.
Orange and mango smoothie
An easy recipe for a healthy orange smoothie – it’s full of vitamins and supped equally by kids and adults.
Ingredients
2 oranges
1 ripe mango (it should give slightly when gently pressed)
1 banana
300ml apple juice
Method
1. Cut the oranges in half and squeeze out the juice. Pour the juice into a large jug (remove the pips).
2. Slice the flesh away from either side of the mango stone. Score a criss-cross pattern on the flesh, then scoop the mango flesh away from the skin and put into the jug with the orange juice. Cut any remaining mango flesh away from the stone and add to the jug.
3. Slice the banana and add to the jug along with the apple juice. Whizz it all together with an electric stick blender to make a lump-free smoothie. Pour into glasses to serve. |
